History of the Pump Factory Powen Ltd. in Zabrze
On July 7, 2000 the Pump Factory POWEN Ltd. was formed on the basis of the structure of POWEN SA in Zabrze. The company started its activities on September, 2000. During the first stage the company adopted from POWEN SA the marketing and commercial services, as well as the design department.
On January 1 2001, the name was changed to Fabryka Pomp POWEN Sp. z o.o., and on June 1, 2001 the company also took over the pump and spare parts production which had been manufactured by POWEN SA.
Over the following years, the initial capital was increased and at the end of 2005 all the shares in the company belonged to the Warsaw Pump and Fittings Factory (Warszawska Fabryka Pomp i Armatury) WAFAPOMP SA.
The Pump Factory Powen Ltd. operated until September 2006, when it was removed from the court register, and its assets were taken over by the Warsaw Pump and Fittings Factory WAFAPOMP SA.
Over the five years of business (2001-2006), the Pump Factory Powen Ltd. continued production of pumps which had been realised in the Mining Machinery Factory in Zabrze since 1947 and which was continued by POWEN SA between 1994 and 2001.
The products manufactured by the Pump Factory Powen Ltd. form now a part of the common offer of the Grupa Powen-Wafapomp SA.
